What's Wolf Laurel?

27 miles North of Asheville, and an easy 4 miles from I-26 sits the original Wolf Laurel Resort.  This gated, golf, ski, and resort community of 5,400 acres is well established with more than 600 property owners, with full amenities and infrastructure in place.

The name "Wolf Laurel" however is older than the resort.  It can be found on USGS maps for the region.  Wolf Laurel is the mile high headwaters of Madison County, NC, and the source of the well known white water and trout stream, "Big Laurel Creek".

Wolf Laurel Resort is governed by covenants that regulate lot sizes, density of homes and the clearing of trees. The overall feeling is rural, yet cultured, rustic yet refined.

In recent years, a number of new communities have launched nearby.  Many have used the names Wolf or Laurel.  This has led to questions for prospective buyers.
